Keeping it together: December

If your Thanksgiving was as hectic as mine and you are like me, then you might want to try to organize life a little better during December. The days will fly by and there’s so much to do! Today I am going to show you a few Moments Inked products and talk about how they can be used throughout the month to stay on track.

The actual project that I made is quite simple - I used some lined paper from my stash and die cut it using the Page die and embellished it with the December sentiment cut from glitter card stock using the Year Round 2 die. Following a similar technique that I showed previously, I made a dashboard using the Pencil Pouch & Trim dies, and the Moments Inked: Edged dies.

The dashboard is the landing spot for all of my post-it notes, which I stamped on using the Moments Inked: Listed stamp set.

I also cut some coordinating stars using the small Sketched Stars dies. I added some buttons from my stash to the dashboard as well:

Here are some ideas of what you can use these projects for!

  1. Christmas Cards: The lined paper can be used to create your Christmas card list, but keep in mind that it’s probably handy to track the addresses that you have vs. don’t have, and to keep track of those folks who may have also sent you a card. You may also send different cards to certain people based on their religion or not - this would also be a great place to make note of this too.
  2. Related to Christmas cards is everything you might need to do send your own cards! Do you need to take a family photo? Set aside time to make all of your cards? Have you purchased your stamps (you can do this online but beware the need for extra postage sometimes!)
  3. Since it’s Cyber Monday, you could also keep track of your gift list here too. Have you wrapped them? Do you need to ship them? My post office is undergoing renovations so I know that I need to set aside extra time for post office adventures!
  4. Are you going to any holiday parties? Are you hosting any holiday parties? Do you need to do any shopping (food, wine, clothes) for these parties? What about a babysitter?
  5. The post-it notes, for me, are better for one-off random hints to do - I m generally very good with food shopping but once in a while I need to make a special trip to the spice store for baking, or to the Paper Store for wrapping paper. I’d make note of those here.
  6. Other things to keep track of include that super long food shopping list as well as decorations. We don’t do a lot of decorating outside, but every year I do order a mantlepiece online - I have to remember to do that this week so that it will arrive early enough to be enjoyed for the season!

Most importantly, set aside time and remember to cherish the time with family and friends. This card be so hard, but it’s what makes life so great! Ideally, making lists that can be saved for next year would be super helpful - for example, I jotted some notes down about Thanksgiving dinner for next year, so we don’t end up with 3 times the amount of squash we need! LOL

I hope this helps! Have a super day!
